The Places. Called. Home
Malam ni while browsing The Awesomer, aku jumpa satu video yang sangat awesome. Untuk sapa-sapa yang baru first time dengar pasal laman web ni, The Awesomer adalah laman web yang display video-video cool around the Web. Video-video ni selalunya datang daripada Youtube.
Ni video yang aku kata awesome tu.
Untuk sapa-sapa yang malas nak play video ni, video ni tunjuk tempat-tempat menarik sekitar Jepun. Dan setiap clip / lokasi dalam video ni diambil waktu pagi, tengah hari, petang, senja, malam. Contoh kat Kyoto clip waktu siang, Hokkaido punya clip waktu pagi. See the video kalau tak paham.
So aku pun teringin gak nak buat video camni. Cuma lokasi aku teringin nak record adalah Perlis. Contoh lokasi macam Kangar, Santan, Arau, Timah Tasoh dan so on. Ajak Umaq buat menatang ni macam best ja.

The Twitter-Tony Stark Theory
You got Facebook? Most of you did. And you got Twitter? Not many has one. But still, I would like to share with you my theory on these two social networking sites. I come up with this theory while on Twitter.
OK. You see Facebook is for me, is like Iron Man. Yeah, that gold and red high-tech armor suit that can fly and shoots laser beam out of his palm and has light on his chest. Yes, that guy. Why I said that? It is because on Facebook, people tend to show that they are cool, strong and they showed to the public what they are on the outside or you might say externally. Handsome, beautiful and all those likable characteristics. Seldom did people shows their true colors on Facebook. Thus Iron Man is said to personified this. Cool, strong and perfect on design and application. But who is Iron Man? It is worn by Tony Stark, the creator. He is human. A living organism. Unlike his creation, a metal suit with power beyond imagination.
Twitter is Tony Stark. People who have Twitter tends to express what they feel emotionally here. They don't mind letting people see their tweets. Heck, they even felt good, comfortable by doing so because they have expressed what they feel. Letting their emotions out. Relieve the pain and pressure brewing inside their core. Only the people following that guy or girl on Twitter will know what the person really is.
I used the Tony Stark and Iron Man because initially my theory is since Facebook is just used as a public face of oneself, acting all cool and cute, while on Twitter we are just being human, insecure and full of angst. The equation for my ridiculous theory is:
Facebook = Public face of you. Acting tough and lovable and all those kind. read: hypocrite / masked
Twitter = Your real face. The REAL you.
Iron Man = Suit of armor. The public regards him as a superhero. Strong and tough.
Tony Stark = The man behind the suit of armor. Alcoholic, playboy and possessing qualities of a normal human.
Therefore Facebook is Iron Man while Twitter is Tony Stark. I know this does not make sense. But hey, it is my theory. Just sharing what I think.
If you got both Twitter and Facebook, you know what I am talking about. =). And if there is a sudden influx of new Twitter follower requests after this post has been published, I know where you people got the push from.

Maxis Broadband
Internet. Kalau takdak Internet mesti hilang punca hidup anda kan. Rasa macam ada sesuatu yang tak kena. Mesti rasa nak masuk Internet. Bukak FB, tengok berita, Youtube, blog and apa-apa yang boleh dicarik. Sekejap pun takpa, janji dapat connection Internet tu.
So, post ni just nak share pengalaman aku sebagai pengguna Broadband. Mobile Broadband to be exact. Cucuk pendrive modem, dah boleh surf Internet. Di mana sahaja anda boleh ber-Internet. Rumah aku tak pernah pasang Streamyx. Never. So that's why aku kena guna Broadband.
First time Broadband user time tu aku dalam Semester 1 kat GMI. Aku rasa time tu aku sorang ja kot ada Internet kat dalam bilik hostel aku tu. Time ni la aku didedahkan dengan art of Internet. Main torrent, download apa semua tu. Maklumla sebelum ni taw guna dial-up ja. Tak pun pi cyber-cafe. Ada Internet sendiri perasaan dia lain la sikit kan. Anyways, time tu aku guna Celcom Broadband. In my experience, not band la. Time peak hour jangan harap la nak dapat decent Internet connection. Slow gila. After 2 a.m baru rasa laju. Tapi kalau download torrent still acceptable. Download, lepas tu tinggal. Tidur. Bangun besok pagi dah siap. Balik kelas baru tengok. Best siot. Aku habis download Season 2 Gundam 00 time ni la.
After that, aku rasa aku deserve better connection speed. So aku beralih ke Maxis Broadband at the end of Semester 4. Aku pun tak taw apa real reason aku tukar. Unsatisfied customer perhaps? So Maxis BB. Speed is so WIN. Seriously, peak hour ka tak, it is fast! Kalau download video kat Youtube tu, sat ja dah siap. Speed memang tak boleh challenge. Tapi, the downside of this awesome service is, dia cepat sampai quota. Aku amik yang 6 GB punya quota. Kalau bulan tu kena gila dia, download sana sini, streaming video banyak-banyak, baru half month dah habis quota. Kalau habis quota, meranalah anda. Time tu rasa kalau pakai dial-up lagi laju kot! Argh. Tu yang selalu kena pi top-up quota tu. Yang sakit hatinya plak, quota mahal nak mampus. Mana mampu camni. So, aku tahan ja la. Guna berpatutan. Overshot tu biasala.
Now, aku noticed something dekat 2 bulan ni. Aku dah reached quota aku, but still, aku rasa the speed is reasonable. Bayangkan kalau dulu nak refresh page FB sangat lah amik masa. Page tu mesti tak akan properly display. Nak pi website lain jangan harap la dia keluar display yang correct. Tapi, sekarang seriously dah ok. Even aku boleh upload gambar ke blog ni dalam keadaan reached quota. FB takda masalah. Download video kat Youtube takes time, tapi still acceptable. Aku pun taktaw apa yang berubah. Maxis or the internet browser itself. Aku pakai Mozilla Firefox 5. Mozilla claim it is fast. Ok la bagi aku. So now, aku berterima kasih kepada kedua mereka ini, Mozilla and Maxis kerana telah memberikan saya peace of mind while browsing the Internet. Thanks you guys.

Okay. Post hari ni adalah khas untuk member-member yang ada Wi-Fi kat umah tu. Ni untuk meningkatkan signal Wi-Fi. Supposedly, aluminium increases the signal power of Wi-Fi. Tak taw la sama ada terbukti berkesan ka tak. General knowledge sikit. Apa maksud Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is Wireless Fidelity. Aku tak taw maksud fidelity. Ask Google. He should know.
Aku pernah la try kat Celcom Broadband aku dulu waktu kat Kajang. Pakai tin Coca-Cola. Ntah, tak nampak visible improvement pun. Renyah nak memotong tin aluminium tu adalah. So, kalau rajin try la buat tutorial ni. Pasang kat Wi-Fi rumah. Tengok ada improvement or same old same old. Selamat mencuba ya!
